Internet Watcher makes surfing faster by removing banner advertisements, Pop-Up windows, Cookies, Java applets, and Javascript. You can set the program to display only the first frame of animated images. In addition to saving network resources, Internet Watcher makes pages easier to read and quicker to print. The Parental Protection enhances the peace of mind of parents, teachers, and business owners by filtering web pages and ensuring that only appropriate content finds its way to the screen. It's easy to include or exclude web pages by URL, or by defining a set of keywords that you deem to be inappropriate for your users. Questionable pages can be blocked or password-protected. In addition to defining who can see what pages, at what times, you also have an audit trail that keeps track of which web pages have been visited.
The program's bi-directional cookie management uses a filter list and an algorithm to distinguish between cookies that are needed to let you revisit important web sites, and those cookies that are violating your privacy. Internet Watcher makes it easy to accept cookies normally, block them, or assign them your own expiration date. You can also do housekeeping on the existing cookies on your computer.
Because Internet Watcher 2000 is a true proxy server, it can be installed easily on a LAN's web server, and all employees can share a single Internet connection. By maintaining Internet Watcher 2000 data on the server, the network administrator can manage cookies, filter pages, and maintain log files for all Internet users on the LAN.
The program includes interfaces in English, German, Japanese, French, Spanish, Italian, and Hungarian. Internet Watcher 2000 runs under Windows 95/98/Me/NT4/2000, and can be easily auto-configured to work with Netscape Navigator 2 or newer, Microsoft Internet Explorer 3 or
newer, or Opera 3 or newer.
